WordPress is an open-source software, which means all of its sources codes are available to everybody. In other words, we can download the software and use it for free. WordPress, the website software is free to download and use, however, the hosting and the domain name are not free.
2. Thousands of themes to choose
There are thousands of free themes (or templates) and paid themes available when you use WordPress as your website software. Most themes come with great layouts and designs, and they provide theme settings to customise the basic colour and style of your website. Choosing a theme is a good option for a very simple website, however, I ‘m never a fan of templates and I believe every website must be unique and special to find its market value online.
3. Thousands of plugins to use
This is absolutely one of my favourite reason to use WordPress. There are countless of free and paid plugins in the marketplace to power up your WordPress site. Plugins are great help for adding extra function on your website, for instance, shopping cart, forums, SEO tools, contact forms, and etc.
4. Easy to use and manage
WordPress is one of the most user-friendly website software that I have ever used. I always tell my client that I will be giving them a tutorial on how to use the back-end, and the tutorials always last less than 5 minutes. WordPress has such a user-friendly and intuitive administrative panel and anyone ( including my 70-year-old client) can jump on to it and start exploring it by themselves.
5. Mobile Friendly
When everyone is keeping their heads down and using their phones, every website must be mobile friendly. Most WordPress themes are responsive which means the website changes its size to fit on any device. 8. Easy for agency to customise and develop
Say if your previous web agency is running out of business and you find another agency to handle your website, WordPress can easily be managed by other agency because it’s such a popular software that most agencies know how to deal with. This has been standing in between the pro and con.
